Integration guide
Cursor on Seedrise
Cursor works with Seedrise through its OpenAI API key with the Base URL override set to https://api.seedrise.ai/v1, for chat models only: Tab completion keeps using Cursor's own models, and the Anthropic and Google key fields have no base URL, so they cannot reach Seedrise.

What works in Cursor
Checked against Cursor's docs and release notes on 2 November 2026. Cursor changes often; the sources are listed at the end of this page.
| Cursor setting | With Seedrise |
|---|---|
| OpenAI API Key + Base URL override | Works. Base URL https://api.seedrise.ai/v1, your Seedrise key, and Seedrise model IDs added to the model list. Chat Completions only. |
| Anthropic API Key | Does not work. There is no base URL field, so requests go to Anthropic, which rejects a Seedrise key. |
| Google API Key | Does not work, for the same reason. |
| Claude and Gemini model names | May not reach Seedrise. Cursor staff say the OpenAI override applies to models that are not Claude or Gemini. |
| Tab completion | Not routed to Seedrise. Tab always uses Cursor's built-in models. |
| Cursor's own models | Can fail while the override is on, because it also catches models such as Composer and Grok. Turn it off to use them. |
| Cursor Plus plan | No own API keys on this plan. |
Why run Cursor through Seedrise
Models outside Cursor's list
Cursor's model list, checked 2 November 2026, has no DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen or Mistral models. Add them by Seedrise ID with one key.
Rates per account, one invoice
Rates are quoted per account against each provider's published list price, on one monthly invoice in USD or AUD.
A key you control
Budget, model allow-list and expiry on the key Cursor uses, with usage by key and model in the Seedrise console.
Setup in five minutes
- Check your Cursor plan. Own API keys are not available on Cursor's Plus plan. On Teams and Enterprise, an admin can switch personal API keys off for the team.
- Create a Seedrise key for Cursor. In the Seedrise console, create a key limited to the models you will add, with a monthly budget. Leave its IP allow-list empty: Cursor sends requests from its own servers, not from your machine.
- Add the key and base URL. Open Cursor Settings > Models. In the OpenAI section, paste your Seedrise key into API Key and turn on Use API Key. Turn on Base URL override and enter the URL below, ending in
/v1with nothing after it.Base URLhttps://api.seedrise.ai/v1 - Add Seedrise model IDs. Add each model to Cursor's model list by its Seedrise ID, with no vendor prefix, and turn it on. Start with models Cursor does not route to its own providers.Model IDs
deepseek-v4-pro kimi-k3.1-pro qwen3.8-max mistral-large-4 deepseek-v3.2 - Pick the model and verify. Choose the model in Agent or Chat and send a prompt. The request should appear in the Seedrise console within a minute, under the Cursor key.
Models to start with in Cursor
Provider list prices in USD per 1M tokens, input / output, as at 1 November 2026. Context windows checked 1 November 2026. Your Seedrise rate card is quoted per account against these prices.
| Model | ID to add in Cursor | Context | List price, input / output | Region |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DeepSeek V4 Pro | deepseek-v4-pro | 1M | 1.32 / 3.96 | Global |
| Kimi K3.1 Pro | kimi-k3.1-pro | 1M | 2.00 / 10.00 | Global |
| Qwen3.8 Max | qwen3.8-max | 1M | 2.00 / 6.00 | SG |
| Mistral Large 4 | mistral-large-4 | 1M | 0.70 / 2.10 | Global |
| DeepSeek V3.2 | deepseek-v3.2 | 164K | 0.64 / 1.91 | AU |
Models marked AU can be pinned to Sydney or Melbourne on request. Every other ID is in the model library; see plans and pricing for how rates are set.
Check it is working
- The Seedrise console shows the request under the Cursor key and the model you picked. If nothing appears, the request did not reach Seedrise.
- To rule out the key, call Seedrise directly. The first command lists the IDs your key can call; the second sends one message.
curl https://api.seedrise.ai/v1/models -H "Authorization: Bearer sk-..."
curl https://api.seedrise.ai/v1/chat/completions \
-H "Authorization: Bearer sk-..." \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"model": "deepseek-v4-pro", "messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "Hello"}]}'- Tab suggestions keep coming from Cursor's own models and never show in the Seedrise console.
Known errors
| Status | Meaning | Fix |
|---|---|---|
401 | The key is wrong, disabled or expired, or it was pasted into the Anthropic or Google field instead of OpenAI. | Paste it under OpenAI and check the key in the console. |
403 | The model is not on this key, or the key has an IP allow-list. Cursor calls Seedrise from its own servers. | Add the model to the key and remove the IP allow-list on Cursor keys. |
404 | Wrong base URL, with /v1 missing or /chat/completions added, or a call to /v1/responses, which Seedrise does not serve yet. | Enter exactly https://api.seedrise.ai/v1. |
400 | Bad request, usually a wrong model ID or malformed body | Check the ID against GET /v1/models. If the ID is right, send us the request time. |
429 | Rate limit or budget reached | Back off and retry; raise the limit in the console or ask us |
| No usage | Cursor sent the request elsewhere. Claude and Gemini model names may not use the OpenAI override. | Use a model from the table above, or run Claude on Seedrise in Claude Code or OpenCode. |
| Cursor models fail | With the override on, Cursor can send its own models, such as Composer and Grok, to Seedrise too. | Turn off Base URL override while you use Cursor's models. |
Still stuck? Email support@seedrise.ai with the time of the request, the model ID and the key name.
For teams
Each developer adds the Seedrise key in their own Cursor settings. Give each team its own key so spend shows up per project on the invoice.
- Enterprise admins control personal API keys under Team Settings > Models. If the OpenAI key field is unavailable, ask your Cursor admin.
- On Cursor Teams and Enterprise plans, Cursor can still charge its own per-token rate on requests made with your own key. Seedrise bills the model usage; Cursor bills its rate.
- Cursor's Zero Data Retention policy does not apply to requests made with your own keys; data handling follows the key provider, here Seedrise. See security and data.
- Control Cursor keys with budget, model allow-list and expiry. An IP allow-list blocks Cursor's servers.
- For Claude across a team, use Claude Code on Seedrise, where managed settings lock every developer to the gateway.
